2014年12月26日上午，江西省召开全省实现县县通高速公路暨重点工程建设新闻发布会，会上常务副省长莫建成宣布，江西省环鄱阳湖生态经济区重点交通建设工程项目——九江绕城高速正式建成通车。由十四局集团四公司等单位担负施工的九江绕城高速公路全长46.7公里，位于我国著名风景区庐山东麓，鄱阳湖西岸，是南昌、宜春等鄱阳湖西岸地区经星子方向对接沿长江通道的又一快速通道。
