2013年12月30日，石华高速正式通车。起于湖南省华容县万庾镇与湖北省石首市高基庙镇相接的湘鄂界，路线往南经华容县白家铺、蹋西湖、吴家咀、万庾镇、叶家台、汪家台，止于长台子，与岳阳至常德高速公路相接。路线全部在华容县境内。本项目路线全长13.393千米，概算总投资8.0489亿元，双向四车道高速公路，设计时速100千米，路基宽度24.5米。全线设枢纽互通式立交1处，收费管理所1处和主线收费站1处。湖南省人民政府已于2009年12月30日在华容县隆重召开了石华高速路开工动员大会。总工期3年。
