起点位于吉安市泰和县石头山，终于赣湘两省交界处的界化垄，与湖南省境内的垄茶高速公路相连。项目经国家发展和改革委员会批准建设，路线全长106.661公里，项目工可批复50.4亿元，工期为24个月。2012年12月31日，吉莲高速公路（泰和枢纽至永新西互通段）正式通车 [1] 。2015年1月9日，吉莲高速公路永新西互通至莲花湘赣界段通车，这也宣告了吉莲高速公路的全线通车。 [2]
